In America the awareness for domestic abuse has increasingly grown over the past few decades. Domestic abuse can affect those involved for the rest of their life. In this paper I will discuss how different organizations uses visual rhetoric to make domestic abuse aware and prevent it.
For sources I will use different websites that aim to prevent domestic abuse. I will use some government websites as well as sites by organizations like the Red Cross.
The most difficult part of this essay will be trying to present an argument against domestic abuse because I have not been involved with it personally.

visual rhetoric review
From Laura's essay I learned about how Nike promoted women sports and equipment. They use a very interesting slogan "The Greatest Team You've Never Heard Of." She also talks a lot about how teams are stronger because of the different abilities of the team members.

My name is Russ Clark. I am from Lexington, South Carolina. I grew up playing and watching sports, loving music, and loving being outdoors and active. In high school I played football, threw shot put and wrestled. I also played trumpet in the concert band and jazz band. I am currently an athletic trainer here at Clemson. I have one younger brother who is seventeen. I have a very friendly black lab and a mixed cat. Currently my major is biological sciences and initially I intended on becoming and athletic orthopedic surgeon, but I am uncertain at the moment. I like to travel. I have been many places including Colorado, Hawaii, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic. I like to snow ski, fish, hunt and be on the lake and the beach. Overall I'm pretty friendly and easy to get along with. As in the words of the great thinker Forrest Gump, "Thats all I have to say about that."

Visual Rhetoric pg 46
The Ford Escape Hybrid ad is set in a forest implying the idea of good fuel economy and being "green". Kermit the frog is at under the car saying "I guess it is easy being green." At the bottom the 36 is much bigger and bolder than the rest of the text around it. Normally SUVs aren't known for having good fuel economy so Ford is trying to oppose that conception.

Visual Narrative Essay

Half asleep I hear my alarm on my clock radio is it a radio commercial trying to get me to go buy some car that I do not need with money I do not have. It is 8am. I climbed off of my loft and stumble to the bathroom and notice all sorts of posters for different fraternities, FCA, and all sorts of functions on the bulletin board, the walls and the doors.
I walk to the dining hall for breakfast and notice more fliers and such on the walls as I pass by the post office and other places. They all are very vibrantly colored and have slogans in big bold letters at the top all of them wanting money or time. Walking to my 9am class I pass by the library with people from different groups sitting at tables passing out yet more fliers. I take my seat in a middle row and end my morning routine.
